This contractor has been a leader in the market for decades and maintains a robust negotiated and repeat-client backlog, offering long-term stability and well-planned projects.

This role is ideal for a commercial Project Manager who values structure, collaboration, and executing projects with the right support from preconstruction through closeout.

Position Overview

The Commercial Project Manager / Senior Project Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of commercial electrical projects, including ground-up commercial buildings, tenant improvements, and design-build work. This role partners closely with estimating, preconstruction, superintendents, and executive leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Senior-level candidates may oversee multiple projects simultaneously, mentor junior project managers, and contribute to operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial electrical projects from turnover through final closeout
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost projections
• Coordinate with preconstruction and estimating during handoff and buyout
• Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing internal coordination
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and material procurement
• Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure scope alignment
• Oversee change order pricing, negotiations, and execution
• Partner with Superintendents to align field execution with project plans
• Maintain proactive communication with general contractors and owners
• Ensure safety, quality, and schedule expectations are met
• For senior roles: mentor PMs/APMs and assist with operational planning

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial electrical project management experience
  (Senior level typically 8–10+ years)
• Experience with ground-up and TI commercial electrical projects
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems and field operations
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and multiple stakeholders
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project (or similar), and Excel
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Stable work history and interest in a long-term role
