Position Overview

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and well-scoped estimates for commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects. The role focuses heavily on negotiated and relationship-driven work, collaborating closely with preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership.

This position offers long-term stability, leadership visibility, and the chance to contribute within a mature estimating department supported by strong systems, historical data, and repeat clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates from conceptual through GMP and final pricing stages
• Perform quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and specialty systems
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to ensure complete and accurate pricing
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing using historical data and current market conditions
• Participate in negotiated work, value engineering, budgeting, and preconstruction planning
• Coordinate with project management, operations, and field leadership to align estimates with execution strategies
• Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor proposals
• Identify scope gaps, risk items, and opportunities for cost optimization
• Support executive leadership with bid strategy, schedule alignment, and risk assessment
• Maintain estimating databases, assemblies, and pricing benchmarks

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience with a commercial or industrial electrical contractor
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, means and methods, and field operations
• Experience with negotiated work, design-assist, or preconstruction services strongly preferred
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid (Classic/Enterprise/Anywhere), ConEst, or similar platforms
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents and specifications
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work directly with leadership and operations teams
• Stable work history and interest in long-term career growth
